Space and Light Workshop – drawing Space of Invisible Elements

In this workshop, participants will work to make a formative poem with elements such as plexiglass, paper, colored pencil and light.
Working with artist Eunhyea Choi artists will express immaterial elements through an abstract language. Casting shadows onto paper or plexiglass, using a smart phone flashlight, participants will produce abstract shapes, then render these shapes with a drawing medium. This technique is an excellent way to begin to explore abstraction as a creative language.
Choi will illustrate examples of her works and explain how to make images in a similar style, encouraging participating artists to go beyond the page and explore three-dimensional planes.
