Deloris “Dew” Igworia is a first generation American poet, writer, musician, designer etc built by two Nigerian immigrants and all the truths that come along with this. Identity has it’s role in formation, however the work appears where the identity comes down. Ritual plays a big role; the ritual of resetting the self. The clarity in being. First I am alive, first and only then am I here. Their work deals with the power present in the moment realizing itself.
As does impermanence, leading to an objective of considering what is sustainable, combined with the parameter that opulence is not only nice but necessary. On an even more basic level than that material is necessary. Pleasure is necessary. Transformation is key.
